In previous epochs of
civilization on Earth, the diversity of continental cultures and
religions offered man a certain protection from the totalizing impulses
of any particular Empire or ideology, whether religious or secular.
Total world domination remained the vain dream of emperors and tyrants.
But now in our time, technological monoculture and Global economy
encircle the whole Earth, obliterating all other cultures and ways of
apprehending the nature of reality. The manasic (the mind) has become
exclusively mathematistic, so that only that which can be numbered,
weighed, and measured can be admitted to the realm of shared reality.
Technological thinking predefines reality and proceeds to confirm its
predefinitions.
The adventure of free scientific investigation into nature has long
since ceased. Trans-national corporations and governments refuse to fund
research that does not have as its goal the eventual production of a
commercially viable product. This is the ultimate materialization of
materialism. In this way, Global mankind now faces the open peril of
losing awareness of the Immeasurable altogether. The real danger is that
the true ground of man’s being will become eclipsed by technological
thinking, which is a refined and totalizing materialism. We are reminded
of H.P.B.’s warning that the manasic (the mind) can be developed to the
utmost degree and still miss the mark spiritually.
In this field of shattered images, energy is replaced by anxiety. Energy
is competitive energy, mental, physical, emotional or sexual, psychic or
“spiritual”. There is a permanent “energy crisis” reflected in various
ways across the entire Global techno-economic monoculture. The separate
self non-entity is multi-separated within its self-enclosure, and this
is evident in the growing interest in multiple personality disorder.
The separate self divides and constantly consumes the whole energy of
the lower self as it arises. And this it does in the all-encompassing
marketplace of other information non-entities where the will-to-power
and money game is to constantly compete for the self-image energy of
attention given to “the celebrity of the moment”. Separate self
non-entities, stressed out and overloaded with dissonant, conflicted
psycho-magnetic charge, collide and wear each other out.
There is the constant demand for stimulation and experiences. The
separate self is chained to the pleasure of consumerism in all areas of
existence. But there is no real satisfaction or peace to be found. It
finds a pleasure within its psycho-graphic niche and proceeds to
indulgently consume it to the point of satiation and indifference. It
has the unwanted experience of pain and loss and need to find a new
pleasure. And so it continues on the treadmill of consumerism. Separate
self non-entities seek to consume and be consumed by other entities, and
this process of mutual consumption is called “relationship”!
When the Individual actually understands the peril to itself and all
other members of the human race in the non-attention of
“self-forgetting”, a profound abiding change occurs in the field of
awareness. The primordial spiritual awareness-energy that arises within
the One and Many releases Man from the dissonant energetic hypnotism
coming constantly from the shattered world of collective separate self
non-entities.
It is not that the Aware-awake Silent Individual avoids the encounter
with non-entities. But the extremely reactive condition of the
non-entities causes them to produce distorted, sensationalized images of
any kind of encounter with an Awakened Individual.
Separate self non-entities tend to react in predictable ways. First of
all, the very presence of an Awakened Silent Individual is a threat and
danger to the separate self. In its fear of losing control, it will
often flee and “demonize” the Awakened Individual. Or the separate self
will attempt to disprove that any such thing as real spiritual knowledge
or awareness can possibly exist. Or the separate self will decide to
adopt what it perceived as the wonderful self-image of the Awakened
Individual and both worship and imitate him – a grotesque sight indeed!
Or it will attempt to latch on to the Awakened Individual and present an
endless array of problems for the Awakened Individual to solve. Or the
separate self will perceive the Individual as some kind of business
opportunity.
It is obvious that the separate self non-entity is gullible, controlling
and fearful in the extreme.
The history of religion is the history of the hysterical reaction of
powerful, entrenched interests protecting their belief-system
territories. And in more recent times, these same entrenched and
divisive interests, in conjunction with large numbers of common separate
self non-entities, have gone to great lengths to subvert the minority of
Silent Awakened Individuals who have revealed themselves to the world.
The old anthropomorphic god religions continue to wage fanatical war
against each other and all “free thinkers”. It is inevitable that
non-entities will do everything in their power to subvert authentic
spirituality. Even when they appear to be most enthusiastic about it,
they inevitably have a divisive will-to-power agenda of their own, and
this, as often as not, under the guise of tolerance towards “all points
of view”. In this way, the Ancient Wisdom Tradition can be mixed in with
and distorted by psychic and scientific pseudo-philosophies, designed to
appeal to the separate self non-entity and its delusional notions of
spirituality. In our time, spiritual seeker non-entities have managed to
exclude authentic spiritual awareness from those areas of traditional
and progressive spiritual culture under their control.
